Like many people, I found myself indoors most of the time during March 2020. I started looking for something productive to do. I wanted to publish something that people could listen to for free. I began to dig through my archives for decent recordings of songs that I had not yet released. These songs were all mixed at different times. I chose the best ones and began mastering them. Then came the artwork. One marathon session of drawing generated the picture that became the album art for this release. The song "Touch It" is from early 2012. It's hugely inspired by the pioneers of punk. Even the lyrics are kind of punk I suppose. Beginning around two years after recording that song, I spent forever writing, recording, re-writing, re-recording, mixing, and eventually mastering my 2017 album, Yes Love Everything. The 2014 song "Jennifer Dear" is actually the original form of what later drastically changed into "Dream Of Everything". In order to create the latter, I literally replaced all aspects of the original recording, except for a few basic elements of the drum loop. The loop in both recordings is rhythmically the same but pretty different otherwise. "Help Somebody" is a song about mental illness. It was recorded in early 2013. The lyrics and general tone are sarcastic and pessimistic. Finally, I give you a recording from Summer 2015: "Love On Hold (acoustic demo)". This track was basically a test to see if I could push my music in a slightly more beautiful direction. Slightly. I feel like the demo showcases my voice and my guitar-playing skills in a fairly honest way. Listening to this last track, I feel even more naked than the woman in the artwork I drew. Enjoy!
